No one was more impactful than Billy Brock in the 4-3 Chattanooga win over Tennessee. Brock, who is tied for 10th in the SL in extra base hits with 14, was 2 for 4 with a home run, a double, and a walk. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2. Lou Plummer got credit for the save for Chattanooga. It was his 10th of the year. Chattanooga is now 19-22, Tennessee 17-24.

Chattanooga used the timely hitting of Dan Mason to seize the win. The right fielder stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the ninth inning to put the Lookouts on top, 4-3. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.

Mason expressed little emotion after the game. "Every game we win now," he said, "is one less win we'll need to get in the end."
