Collins Neutralizes Smokies
|
Dorian Collins, who is tied for 10th in the SL in complete games with 1, never let the Smokies get in a groove. The right-hander used his bread and butter, his fastball, to pitch the Lookouts to a win, 4-0. Today's win puts Chattanooga at 20-25, while Tennessee falls to 20-25.
Collins, a native of Pickens, Mississippi, was dealing all game. He kept Tennessee hitters off-balance, while giving the Lookouts 8 quality innings. Collins threw 110 pitches, allowing 3 hits and striking out 14.
"We didn't get too many good swings against Dorian," said Tennessee manager Kevin Riggs.
