Shuckers Drop 11-3 Decision to Barons
The Birmingham Barons pasted the Biloxi Shuckers with a convincing 11-3 defeat at Regions Park. Bernardo Díaz was a prime factor in the Birmingham win. He went 3-5 with a home run and a double. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2. Joe Wood, the winning pitcher, improved to 2-3. He pitched 5 innings, giving up 8 hits and 3 runs, while striking out 5 and walking 3. Juan Rodríguez earned the save for Birmingham, his 1st.

With Birmingham leading 4-3 in the bottom of the seventh, Díaz hit a forkball from Jeremy Brown for a 2-run home run. It was his 3rd home run of the season and put the Barons ahead, 6-3.

"It was a good team win. Everybody threw something in," Díaz told the Birmingham Citizen.

Birmingham now has a record of 27-22 with the win.
