Hank Aaron Stadium was the site of a competitive game between the Biloxi Shuckers and Mobile BayBears.

Starting pitcher Norm Sims pitched well enough to help the Mobile BayBears beat the Biloxi Shuckers, 4-3. César Méndez notched his 14th save in 18 chances.

Manny Echevarría went 2-4 with 2 singles for Mobile. The 24-year old catcher had a key at-bat in the bottom of the third. With one out and runners on 1st and 2nd, he broke a 0-0 tie with a run-scoring single off A.C. Berry. It was his 70th hit of the season.

After the game, Mobile manager applauded the team's effort. "They busted their humps out there," he said.

Mobile is now 28-37, while Biloxi is 24-41.
