Though he had a terrific game, Steve McVeagh could not prevent his team, the Montgomery Biscuits, from absorbing a loss. Biloxi won the game, 8-2. McVeagh went 1 for 3 with a home run and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. The win was credited to Jeremy Brown in relief. His record improves to 1-0. Rubén González took the loss. Biloxi second baseman Rob Holloway contributed a timely at-bat in the top of the fourth. With two down, he hit a fastball to center field for a run-scoring single. It was his 12th hit of the season and put the Shuckers ahead, 3-0.
