Chattanooga Topples Tennessee, 4-3

Steve Marks was a vital contributor to the 4-3 Chattanooga victory over Tennessee. The Lookouts shortstop went 4 for 4 with a home run, a double, and 2 singles, while scoring 2 runs. Curt Boyd got the win, improving to 2-1. He pitched 5 innings, giving up 4 hits and 2 runs, while striking out 8 and walking 5. Lou Plummer recorded the save for Chattanooga, his 15th of the season.
The Lookouts got a big at-bat from right fielder Dan Mason. For the game, Mason went 1 for 3 with a double and a walk. In the bottom of the fifth, with runners on 1st and 3rd, he stroked a run-scoring double. His 26th double of the season gave Chattanooga a 3-2 lead.
Chattanooga manager Mike Johns said his team played a "no nonsense" game.
After today's action, Chattanooga sits at 29-45; Tennessee slips to 36-38.
