The Mississippi Hammers beat the Tennessee Smokies by a score of 7-4. Mississippi third baseman Desi Rush deserved the lion's share of the credit. Rush hit 2 home runs, while adding 3 RBI and scoring twice for the Hammers. Tim Williams, the winner, goes to 13-5. He allowed 2 runs on 5 hits, with 2 walks and 8 strikeouts over 6.1 innings.
