The Mississippi Hammers got a stellar performance from pitcher Dave Phillips, who handcuffed the Tennessee offense en route to a win, 4-1, at Trustmark Park. Esteban Soto earned his 23rd save in 26 chances. The Hammers have now won 6 straight.

The Hammers got a big at-bat from first baseman Shawn Simmons. For the game, Simmons was 3-4 with 2 doubles and was hit by a pitch, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once.
