Allen Leads Tennessee to 3-0 Win Over Jackson
In a seemingly effortless performance, Gene Allen of the Tennessee Smokies shot down the Jackson Generals, 3-0, on 8 hits.

"Gene was just locating so well and using his pitches," Tennessee manager Kevin Riggs said later. "He wasn't leaving anything over the plate."

Allen recorded 6 strikeouts and no walks in a strong outing.

"When he needed to make pitches, he elevated his game," Jackson manager Mark L. Johnson said in postgame comments to BNN. "We couldn't get a key hit off him."

Checking out his stats for the season, Allen has racked up 6 wins and 5 losses in 13 starts, posted a 3.62 ERA, and struck out 81 batters in 97 innings.
