The Biloxi Shuckers grabbed a win, 8-5, over the Tennessee Smokies at Smokies Park. Biloxi first baseman Álex López went 1-4 with a home run and a walk. He scored 2 times and drove in 3. The Shuckers raised their record to 46-87.

With Biloxi leading 5-2 in the top of the seventh, López hit a curveball from Dave Davis for a 3-run home run. It was his 5th home run of the season and put the Shuckers ahead, 8-2.

"Nice win for us," said López. "Now we'll go after the next one."
