Jose Berrios, who signed a 2-year contract worth $13,500,000 on 02/28/2026, never let the Phillies get in a groove. The right-hander used his bread and butter, his curveball, to pitch the Nationals to a win, 2-1. Philadelphia drops to 3-2.

Washington used the timely hitting of Bryce Harper to seize the win. The center fielder stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the seventh inning to put the Nationals on top, 2-1. It was his only hit in 2 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.

"I just tried to attack the bottom of the zone," Berrios said.
