Corpus Christi got a terrific performance from pitcher Don Scott, but it wasn't enough to beat the Arkansas Travelers. Arkansas won the Whataburger Field contest, 4-2. Scott threw 8.0 innings of 7-hit ball for the losing team. The Travelers, now 5-0, have hit the ground running this season.

Eric Scales came through with a big-time hit for Arkansas. The right fielder smacked a solo home run in the top of the 11th inning to give his team the lead, 3-2. It was his only hit, but it was clutch.

After the game, Arkansas manager Mike Redmond applauded the team's effort. "We put some good AB's together," he said.
