The Corpus Christi Hooks picked up a win at ONEOK Field, knocking off the Tulsa Drillers, 5-3. Starting pitcher Mal Morrison was a big reason why. Morrison, the winner, moves to 1-1. He threw 8.1 innings of 4-hit ball, while fanning 10 and giving up 3 walks. Jimmy Rollins Jr. recorded his 1st save for Corpus Christi.

Corpus Christi used a well-timed hit by Cliff Martin to capture the win. The left fielder socked a run-scoring double in the top of the third inning to put the Hooks ahead, 1-0. Though it was his only hit in 4 at-bats, it was important.

"We've got a great group of guys," Martin said, "and we're having fun right now."

The Hooks, now 6-1, have stormed out of the gates.
