Baseball fans saw a good contest between the Springfield Cardinals and Midland RockHounds.

Midland got a decent performance from pitcher Víctor Franco, but it wasn't enough to beat the Springfield Cardinals. Springfield won the Security Bank Ballpark contest, 4-3. Franco threw 8.0 innings of 6-hit ball for the losing team. José Castro, summoned from the bullpen, notched his 4th save.

Who knows how it might've ended, had it not been for Tony Castro? The Springfield designated hitter had a 2-run double in the top of the fourth inning to put the Cardinals on top, 3-1. For the game, Castro had 1 double and 2 singles in 4 at-bats.

After the game, Springfield manager Elvis Morel applauded the team's effort. "We put some good AB's together," he said.

The win has Springfield at 7-4.
