Dickey-Stephens Park hosted an old-fashioned pitchers' duel.

In a low-scoring contest between the Springfield Cardinals and the Arkansas Travelers, Tim Mueller was the X factor. The Springfield right-hander spearheaded the 2-1 win. José Castro finished the game for Springfield and earned his 7th save.

Springfield needed the clutch hitting of Tony Castro to seal the deal. The left fielder swatted a solo home run in the top of the ninth inning to put the Cardinals on top, 2-1. For the game, Castro had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.

"Tim can overpower you," said Springfield manager Elvis Morel.

The win brings the Cardinals to 10-6, a promising start as the team looks to return to the playoffs.
