The Midland RockHounds had to overcome a fine effort from San Antonio pitcher Phil Childress to win, 2-0, at Security Bank Ballpark. Childress went 8 innings and allowed 2 runs. San Antonio, at 5-12, is off to a poor start in 2025.

The RockHounds got a big at-bat from left fielder Xavier Quintero. For the game, Quintero went 1 for 4 with a double. In the bottom of the fifth, with a runner on 2nd, he stroked a run-scoring double. His 3rd double of the season gave Midland a 1-0 lead.

"At the end of the day, it's always about your starting pitcher," said Midland skipper Basilio Cabrera.
