Curt Lee pitched well, but the Corpus Christi Hooks still fell short, losing, 4-3, to the Frisco RoughRiders at Dr. Pepper Ballpark. Frisco pitcher José Miranda got the win. He's now 2-1. Curt Lee was tagged with the loss. Joe Hicks earned the save for Frisco, his 1st.

The RoughRiders got a big at-bat from first baseman Clarence Bates. For the game, Bates went 1 for 3 with a home run and a walk, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. In the bottom of the first, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a 3-run home run. His 2nd home run of the season gave Frisco a 3-0 lead.

"I like what I saw today," said Frisco manager Mike Breyman, "and I can't wait to get back out there and do it again."

For the Hooks, the loss makes their record 7-11.
