Hooks Turn Back Frisco, 8-7
The Frisco RoughRiders and Corpus Christi Hooks provided some drama for the home crowd.

The Corpus Christi Hooks defeated the Frisco RoughRiders, 8-7, in part because of second baseman Charlie Gaston. Gaston went 3-5 with a home run and a double. He scored 2 times and drove in 2 for the Hooks. Ed Ferrell notched the win in relief. The right-hander allowed 6 runs on 5 hits in 3 innings. His record now sits at 1-0.

Steve Sweet had a key at-bat with no one out in the top of the sixth for Corpus Christi. With runners on 1st and 3rd and the Hooks leading 7-0, he grounded out, driving in 1 run.

"I put some good swings on the ball tonight," said Gaston.

The RoughRiders fall to 7-12 and continue their lackluster start to the 2026 season.
