Travelers Edge Past Naturals, 3-2

Starting pitcher Andy McCormick gave the Arkansas Travelers a rock-solid effort. The Raleigh, North Carolina native helped his team defeat the Northwest Arkansas Naturals, 3-2, at Dickey-Stephens Park. Mike Kirk, now 1-0, picked up the win in relief. He allowed no runs on 1 hit in 1.1 innings. The Naturals are now 9-17 this season.
The decisive blow was delivered by Eric Scales in the bottom of the ninth when he hit a solo home run off 22-year old right-handed pitcher Leonardo González to win the game for Arkansas. The home crowd went nuts.
"You have to trust that what you're doing is going to produce results," said McCormick.
