Fonseca Leads Midland Past San Antonio
|
Though the conditions were not ideal, the Midland RockHounds and San Antonio Missions came back from a rain delay to finish their game.
In a low-scoring affair between the Midland RockHounds and the San Antonio Missions, pitcher Raúl Fonseca was the difference between victory and defeat. The Midland right-hander earned accolades for his stellar performance in the 2-1 RockHounds win. Yajirobei Hirayama recorded the save, his 4th.
Fonseca ran roughshod over the San Antonio lineup. The right-hander allowed just 4 hits over 8 innings, while striking out 7. With the victory, he goes to 1-5 on the season.
Fonseca attributed the win to his team's "focus and intensity."
With the win, the RockHounds improved to 14-19.
