Hooks Pocket 6-2 Win Against Frisco
|
Corpus Christi Hooks starter Wes Carter kept the Frisco RoughRiders hitters in check, leading his team to a comfortable 6-2 win. Carter yielded 2 runs over 7.1 innings to notch the win. He scattered 10 hits, walked 2, and struck out 5. His record improves to 4-2. Corpus Christi is now 13-20, while Frisco is 20-12.
Corpus Christi shortstop Dave Benson helped the Hooks go up, 3-2, in the top of the seventh inning. With the game tied, Benson hit a run-scoring single off Frisco pitcher Jesús García.
"We'll enjoy this win for now, but it's just one," Carter told local reporters. "We've got to keep it going."
