The Corpus Christi Hooks topped the San Antonio Missions, 7-4, in Texas League action at Whataburger Field. The game was highlighted by the performance of Corpus Christi pitcher Wes Carter. Picking up his 2nd save was 26-year old right-handed pitcher Chris Hale. After today's action, Corpus Christi sits at 16-22; San Antonio slips to 14-23.

Augusto Espinoza had a big 2-run triple for the Hooks in the bottom of the second inning. With Corpus Christi leading 1-0 and runners on 2nd and 3rd, he got a curveball from 28-year old right-handed pitcher Steve Jackson and swatted a triple to center. It was his 1st triple of the season, and more importantly, it put the Hooks ahead, 3-0.

"Really good pitchers have that ability to raise their game when they need to," said Corpus Christi manager Alex Gordon.
