With shortstop Ángelo Díaz leading the charge, the Midland RockHounds defeated the Arkansas Travelers, 6-5, at Dickey-Stephens Park. Díaz, who is tied for 4th in the TEX in home runs with 8, hit 2 home runs, while adding 4 RBI and scoring twice. The win belonged to Víctor González in relief. His record improves to 1-4. Leon Thompson took the loss for Arkansas. Jesús Ramos got credit for the save for Midland. It was his 8th of the year.

Díaz had a game-changing home run in the top of the ninth. On a 0-2 slider from Leon Thompson, he banged a 3-run home run to left, giving the RockHounds a 6-3 lead. It was the 8th home run of the year for Díaz.

"I just tried to make good contact," said Díaz.

The win puts Midland at 17-31.
