The Midland RockHounds picked up a win at Whataburger Field, knocking off the Corpus Christi Hooks, 5-3. On the mound for Midland was right-hander Brad Fountain. He played a key role in the triumph. The RockHounds raised their record to 23-39.
Midland used the hitting of Ángelo Díaz to pick up the win. The shortstop clubbed a run-scoring single in the top of the ninth inning to put the RockHounds on top, 4-3. For the game, Díaz had 1 home run and 1 single in 5 at-bats.
"I'm just looking for a good pitch that I can hit well," said Díaz. "And not try to do too much."
