The Midland RockHounds defeated the San Antonio Missions, 4-3, in Texas League action at Nelson W. Wolff Municipal Stadium. Midland pitcher Nacho Romero had a standout performance. Romero yielded 1 run over 7 innings to notch the win. He scattered 7 hits, walked 2, and struck out 8. His record improves to 4-5. Yajirobei Hirayama sewed up the save, his 12th.

Midland won the game in part because of José Rodríguez. The left fielder ripped a 2-run home run in the top of the first inning to put the RockHounds ahead, 2-0. For the game, Rodríguez had 1 double and 1 home run in 5 at-bats.

"It was a good night for them and a bad night for us," said San Antonio manager Nick Vincent.
