The Frisco RoughRiders trumped the Corpus Christi Hooks, 8-7, at Whataburger Field. Frisco right fielder Tony Martínez was terrific. He was 3 for 5 with 2 doubles, while scoring 3 times. Chris Martin locked down his 7th save. Frisco, with the win, climbs to 21-47.

The RoughRiders got a big hit from left fielder Joe Sherman. Facing Corpus Christi pitcher Jon Steele in the top of the eighth, Sherman pounded a run-scoring double to left-center. His 10th double of the season put the RoughRiders ahead, 8-3.

"Nice to get this one," said Sherman. "We've been scuffling."
