San Antonio Drops Another One, 6-5
|
Starting pitcher José Miranda pitched well enough to help the Frisco RoughRiders beat the San Antonio Missions, 6-5. Miranda, now 4-1, was the winner. In 7.1 innings, he gave up 3 hits, while striking out 8, walking 2, and allowing 1 run. The Missions, at 25-49, have lost 6 straight games.
Andy Ryan had a big bases-clearing triple for the RoughRiders in the bottom of the fourth inning. With Frisco leading 3-0 and the bases loaded, he got a fastball from 25-year old right-handed pitcher Ben Wilson and swatted a triple to left-center. It was his 2nd triple of the season, and more importantly, it put the RoughRiders ahead, 6-0.
"I'm happy we won," said Miranda. "That's first and foremost. My goal is for the team to win the day I pitch, however it's done."
