Wilson Twirls Hooks to Shutout Win
The Corpus Christi Hooks did little to support starter Mike Wilson against the San Antonio Missions, but it turned out he didn't need the help.

The right-hander spun a complete game shutout against the Missions, striking out 6 and surrendering 5 hits. The performance from Wilson allowed Corpus Christi to escape with the 2-0 win, despite an anemic offense.

"Nobody came to me and said, 'Mike, we're gonna need you to win this one for us today,' but I could feel it," Wilson told BNN reporters following the win. "I'm the guy that will step up for you when you need it."

This year, Wilson has a 7-8 mark in 16 starts with a 2.41 ERA. He has given up 103 hits in 123 innings, struck out 123 and issued 39 walks. Opposing clubs have compiled a .226 batting average against him.
