Travelers Make Hooks 9-7 Losers
The Arkansas Travelers overcame a pretty good performance by Corpus Christi second baseman Augusto Valentín, beating the Hooks, 9-7, at Whataburger Field. Valentín was 3-6 with 2 doubles, while scoring 2 and driving in 4. The second-place Hooks dropped to 42-37.

Kevin Brown had a big bases-clearing double for the Travelers in the top of the fourth inning. With Arkansas trailing 1-0 and the bases loaded, he got a changeup from Regis Barbiusa and swatted a double to left-center. It was his 17th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Travelers ahead, 3-1.

"It was offense that won us the game," said winning manager Mike Redmond.
