Hooks Get Dramatic 4-3 Win
|
Corpus Christi starter Don Scott pitched effectively against the San Antonio Missions at Whataburger Field. The right-hander led his team to a win, 4-3. Corpus Christi reliever António Solís picked up the win to move to 5-8. Quentin Bixler suffered the loss. The first-place Hooks, at 80-57, now lead their division by 10½ games.
Augusto Espinoza was the walk-off hero for Corpus Christi. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Hooks third baseman hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.
"Don did what Don does," said Corpus Christi manager Alex Gordon.
