The Corpus Christi Hooks faced a tough opponent in San Antonio pitcher Joe Owens, but did just enough to pull out the victory at Whataburger Field by a final score of 2-1 in 10 innings. Owens went 8 innings and allowed 1 run. With the win, Corpus Christi pushed its record to 81-57.

The Hooks got a clutch hit from first baseman Cristóbal Reyes. In the bottom of the tenth, he delivered a run-scoring single to win the game for the Hooks.

Reyes told a Corpus Christi Citizen reporter he was "pleased as punch" with the win.
