Saul Tags Emeralds for 5 Hits
Mike Saul got the glory and the headlines, but the Eugene Emeralds left with the win. The Hillsboro center fielder easily handled the Emeralds pitching, going 5-for-6, but his Hillsboro Hops came out on the short end of the 15-11 score.

Saul told BNN reporters in the postgame interview he would happily trade "three or four" of his hits for a win.

"Heck, maybe even all of them," he said with a laugh. "Right now, it just seems like one loss in a long season but who knows what it could mean at the end."

Mike Saul singled in the 1st, hit an RBI single in the 2nd, struck out in the 3rd, hit an RBI single in the 5th, tripled in the 7th and singled in the 9th.

So far this season, Saul has hit .429 with no home runs, 4 RBIs and scored 5 times.
