The 2026 season is off to a good start for the Rancho Cucamonga Quakes. The hometown Quakes dumped the High Desert Mavericks, 5-4, at LoanMart Field. Elroy Long spearheaded the win. He went 3-5 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2.

The Quakes got a clutch hit from second baseman José Herrera. In the bottom of the 11th, he delivered a run-scoring single to win the game for the Quakes.

"We take it day by day here," said Long, "and today was a good one for us."
