The San Jose Giants faced a tough opponent in Visalia pitcher Ed Webb, but found a way to pull out the victory at San Jose Municipal Stadium by a final score of 5-4 in 10 innings. Webb went 5.2 innings and allowed no runs. San Jose reliever Pete Bryan snagged the win, upping his record to 1-0. José Gonzáles shouldered the loss. San Jose has a record of 1-2.

The Giants got a clutch hit from pinch hitter Jesús Olivas. In the bottom of the tenth, he hit a run-scoring single to left, to win the game for the Giants.
