Blaze Pin 8-0 Loss on High Desert
The Bakersfield Blaze and starting pitcher Cam Rice stifled the High Desert offense en route to a comfortable 8-0 win at Historic Sam Lynn Ballpark. The loss puts High Desert at 7-8.

The Blaze got a big hit from catcher Al Gray. Facing High Desert pitcher Pat Peterson in the bottom of the sixth, Gray pounded a bases-clearing double to right-center. His 1st double of the season put the Blaze ahead, 4-0.

"Main thing is I want the team to win," Rice told a reporter after the game. "Just have to go out there, take care of my job, and give my team a chance to win."
