Quakes Win 7-6 Nail-Biter Versus Nuts
The Rancho Cucamonga Quakes picked up a win at LoanMart Field, knocking off the Modesto Nuts, 7-6, in 11 innings. Starting pitcher Joe James played a key role in the triumph. The Quakes are off to a tough start, getting just their 6th win in 17 games.

Up to bat in the bottom of the 11th, 22-year old catcher Jorge Rivera had a chance to be the hero. Modesto pitcher Jimmy Miller wanted to foil that plan. But with one out, Rivera hit a sacrifice fly. The Quakes had themselves a thrilling win.

"When you are able to locate the ball, good things are going to happen," said James.
