Lake Elsinore Stopped, 5-4, by High Desert
|
The High Desert Mavericks topped the Lake Elsinore Storm, 5-4, in California League action at Stater Bros. Stadium. The standout performance belonged to High Desert pitcher and Puerto Ayacucho, Venezuela, native Sergio Román. The save was credited to Pat Peterson, his 1st. The Storm, now 5-14, continue their slow start.
José Muñóz, who was drafted in the 2nd round of the 2023 draft, helped out the High Desert cause in the bottom of the seventh inning with a run-scoring sacrifice fly. For the game, the third baseman drove in one run.
"Nice to tuck this win away," said Muñóz.
