Lake Elsinore Falters Again, Loses, 5-4, to High Desert
High Desert beat Lake Elsinore at Stater Bros. Stadium, escaping with a 5-4 win. The win in large part was due to shortstop Ken Pearson. He was 2-4 with a home run and a double. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. The winner was Ben Tucker in relief. His record improves to 1-0. Greg Lewry took the loss. Pat Peterson sewed up the save, his 2nd.

The Storm had been locked in a 3-3 tie with the Mavericks going into the bottom of the sixth inning. That changed quickly when the 24-year old shortstop Joel Brown came to the plate. Brown hit a run-scoring double on a 2-2 fastball from Lake Elsinore hurler Eric Jackson. It was Brown's 1st double of the year.

"If we play like this, we can win a lot of games," Brown told the High Desert Today.

Lake Elsinore, at 5-15, is off to a poor start in 2026.
