Blaze center fielder Juan Báez left his mark on his team's 8-6 win over the Stockton Ports. Báez was 3-3 with a triple, a double, and 2 walks. He drove in 2 runs for Bakersfield in the contest. Chad Payling picked up his 1st save of the season. The Ports drop to 9-12, as their stumbling start to the 2025 season continues.

Bakersfield used the timely hitting of Pat Bancroft to seize the win. The catcher stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the ninth inning to put the Blaze on top, 8-6. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.

"We're all about heart and hustle on this team. That's what wins ballgames," Bancroft told the Bakersfield Gazette.
