The Modesto Nuts picked up a win at Lake Elsinore Diamond, topping the Lake Elsinore Storm, 7-4. On the mound for Modesto was right-hander Juan Estrada. He played a principal role in the triumph. Lake Elsinore, with the loss, is 6-21.

Ken Boyd had a key at-bat with one out in the top of the third for Modesto. With the bases loaded and the Nuts leading 1-0, he grounded out, driving in 1 run.
