The San Jose Giants got a sterling performance from pitcher Edgardo Roa, but the Visalia Rawhide still prevailed, 2-1. Roa threw 8.1 innings of 5-hit ball. Visalia pitcher Luis Valdés got the win, upping his record to 1-0. Edgardo Roa got the loss. San Jose, with the loss, is 15-12.

The clutch at-bat came in the bottom of the ninth inning, when Visalia second baseman José Gómez, facing Edgardo Roa, had a run-scoring ground out. It gave the Rawhide the 2-1 win.

"I like the vibe in the clubhouse after a win," said Gómez. "It sure beats the alternative."
