In a tight tilt between the Modesto Nuts and the High Desert Mavericks, Beniamino Settignano was the deciding factor. The Modesto right-hander spearheaded the 3-1 win. Kel Clark recorded his 9th save for Modesto. By defeating High Desert, the second-place Nuts improved to 16-14.

Settignano ran roughshod over the High Desert lineup. The right-hander allowed just 3 hits over 8 innings, while striking out 8. With the victory, he goes to 1-3 on the season.

"Win or lose, we pick each other up in this clubhouse," Settignano told the Modesto Times.
