A 4-RBI performance from second baseman Jerry Richards, who is tied for 6th in the CAL in extra base hits with 16, led the Bakersfield Blaze to a win over the Lake Elsinore Storm, 6-4. Bakersfield is now 29-12, 2½ games up in the North Division.

Bakersfield took a 6-1 lead on Richards's 6th home run of the season. The grand slam home run, which he hit off Mike Tate in the top of the sixth, propelled Bakersfield to the win.

"We ground out the win," said Richards. "That's all that matters."
