Lancaster beat Visalia at The Hanger, eking out a 6-5 win. The triumph was primarily due to designated hitter Jim Austin. He went 2-3 with 2 singles and was hit by a pitch. He scored 3 runs. Lancaster reliever Luis Gallegos picked up the win to move to 1-1. Jerry White suffered the loss. The South Division-leading JetHawks are 28-17.

Had Estaçio Corunha not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and the bases loaded, Corunha hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 6-5, in favor of the JetHawks.
