High Desert Sent Home with 2-1 Loss
|
High Desert got a big-time effort from pitcher Steve Hankins, but it wasn't enough to keep the Inland Empire 66ers from winning the game, 2-1. Hankins threw 9.0 innings of 8-hit ball for the losing team. Inland Empire is now 23-24, while High Desert is 24-23.
Greg Benner hit a run-scoring triple off Steve Hankins in the top of the sixth, which put the 66ers in front, 2-1. Benner had 2 singles, in addition to the triple. For the game, he went 3 for 4.
"I'm proud of the way our guys played today to come out with this win," Benner told the Inland Empire Chronicle.
