Lancaster 8-7 Losers to Mavericks
The Lancaster JetHawks and High Desert Mavericks provided some drama for the home crowd.

Thanks in large part to second baseman Bobby Schultz, the High Desert Mavericks beat the Lancaster JetHawks, 8-7. Schultz went 4-5 with 4 singles and a walk, while scoring 2 times. The save went to Chris Martin, his 12th this season.

High Desert needed the clutch hitting of Tony Anderson to seal the deal. The designated hitter swatted a 2-run home run in the top of the seventh inning to put the Mavericks on top, 5-4. For the game, Anderson had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.

"It's nice to deliver when your team's counting on you," said Schultz.

At 26-21, the Mavericks are currently third in the South Division.
