Mavericks Trip Storm, 2-0, in Extra Innings
The High Desert Mavericks used a stellar performance from pitcher Sergio Román to throttle the Lake Elsinore offense en route to an extra-inning, 2-0 win at Lake Elsinore Diamond. Ben Tucker earned the win after being summoned from the bullpen. The right-hander allowed no runs on 1 hit in 1.1 innings. He upped his record to 2-0. The win for the Mavericks lifted their record to 29-27.

High Desert took advantage of an error in the top of the 13th inning. The game was tied, 0-0, when Jerry Franklin hit a run-scoring single that was misplayed. It put the Mavericks in front, 1-0.

"Sometimes winning takes more than 27 outs," said Mavericks manager Vance Wilson.
