Thrilling Victory Pushes Giants Win Streak to 5
The San Jose Giants beat the Bakersfield Blaze, 11-8, at Historic Sam Lynn Ballpark. San Jose third baseman Jesús Olivas had an outstanding performance. He was 3-4 with 2 doubles and a walk, while scoring 2 times. Josh Morris came out of the bullpen to earn the win. The right-hander allowed no runs on 1 hit in 2.1 innings. His record now stands at 3-1. The Giants lead the North Division by 6 games.

San Jose used the timely hitting of Eddie Martin to seize the win. The pinch hitter stroked a 2-run single in the top of the ninth inning to put the Giants on top, 9-8. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a game-changer.

"The bar for us is not a particular opponent, it's ourselves," said San Jose manager Jake Arrieta.
