Fans witnessed a whale of a game between the Bakersfield Blaze and San Jose Giants.

In a tight game between the Bakersfield Blaze and the San Jose Giants, pitcher Stan Valentine was terrific on the mound. The Bakersfield right-hander helped his team to the 1-0 win. With the win, the Blaze improved to 35-26.

The Giants had their hands full with Valentine, who overpowered San Jose hitters while racking up 11 strikeouts.

"Both teams played hard," said Bakersfield manager Joe McEwing.
