The Inland Empire 66ers and starting pitcher Tommy Steward stifled the Lake Elsinore offense en route to a comfortable 9-2 win at San Manuel Stadium. The last-place Storm have dropped 5 straight games.

Inland Empire left fielder Freddie Elliott contributed a timely at-bat in the bottom of the second. With two down, he hit a slider to center field for a run-scoring single. It was his 47th hit of the season and put the 66ers ahead, 3-1.

"It's about putting our team in the best position to win ballgames," said Steward.
