Bakersfield Absorbs 2-0 Loss to San Jose
The San Jose Giants claimed a close win over the Bakersfield Blaze, due in large part to Don Davis. The San Jose left-hander pitched a great game to secure the 2-0 win. Davis, the winner, moves to 6-2. He threw 5.2 innings of 2-hit ball, while fanning 5 and giving up 2 walks. Abel Lewis was credited with the save for San Jose, his 5th of the season.

In the top of the fifth, with the game tied, Bakersfield allowed the Giants to go up, 1-0, on a Bakersfield error.

"Feels good to get the job done," Ford said after the game.

With the win over Bakersfield, the Giants improved to 41-21.
