The San Jose Giants beat the Lake Elsinore Storm, 10-1, at Lake Elsinore Diamond. The Giants got a fine performance from designated hitter Pancho Soto, who went 3-5 with a home run and 2 singles. He scored 2 runs and drove in 4. San Jose goes to 43-24. The win puts them 7 games up in their division.
San Jose won the game in part because of Greg Hunt. The right fielder ripped a 3-run home run in the top of the first inning to put the Giants ahead, 3-0. For the game, Hunt had 1 double and 1 home run in 5 at-bats.
"We've got a great group of guys," Hunt said, "and we're having fun right now."
